AdHoc Studio hit the scene in 2025 with the episodic adventure game Dispatch, and now the studio’s next game is mere months away. Dispatch was one of 2025’s biggest success stories, earning a great deal of praise for its story, characters, and modern take on the classic Telltale-style of adventure game. And since AdHoc Studio was founded by people that previously worked on some of Telltale’s most popular games, it makes sense that Dispatch feels like a continuation of those titles.
Many fans are anxiously awaiting the next game from AdHoc Studio. Dispatch 2 hasn’t been announced, but we do know that the studio is working on a project with Critical Role set in Exandria. However, before the Critical Role project releases, fans of the studio’s work have something else to play.
AdHoc is Co-Developing Until Dawn 2
It was recently confirmed that Until Dawn 2 is being co-developed by AdHoc Studio and Firesprite. For those who may be unfamiliar with Until Dawn, the original was basically a playable horror movie with player choice helping shape the narrative and character interactions. Until Dawn is similar to the Telltale games in that way, though it offered more cutting-edge graphics and a lot more interactivity.
With how similar Until Dawn is to the Telltale formula, it makes sense that AdHoc Studio was recruited to help work on Until Dawn 2. Until Dawn 2 is set to launch on January 28, 2027, a whopping 12 years after the original was first released for PS4. Until Dawn 2 follows a new cast of characters as they visit a tropical island and soon encounter various horrors. Until Dawn 2 will have some loose connections to the original game, and it will be interesting to see how the story unfolds.

Like Dispatch, Until Dawn 2 has a big emphasis on player choice shaping the narrative. Examples shown in the latest Until Dawn 2 trailer include players having to decide whether to sacrifice a rooster or slice their own palm, and crossing a dangerous bridge or following a mysterious signal. QTEs will remain a big focus, which were also featured heavily in Dispatch. With Until Dawn 2 sharing so much DNA with AdHoc’s previous work and the Telltale games, it seems like the studio will be a perfect match for the highly-anticipated horror sequel.
Dispatch fans should be sure to circle Until Dawn 2 on their calendars, as it should help scratch that Dispatch itch. Those that want more Dispatch should note that while a sequel has yet to be announced, that universe will still be explored. Dispatch is getting its own animated series and tabletop RPG, and star Aaron Paul has expressed interest in returning. Considering the sales success of the first game, one has to imagine that a Dispatch 2 is a matter of when, not if, but the studio will no doubt want to get its current projects off its plate first, with Until Dawn 2 and the Exandria project coming up next.
