Kingdom Hearts has been described as a crossover of Disney and Final Fantasy since the first game released on the PlayStation 2, but what exactly does this mean? While the original pitch sold players seeing characters like Cloud and Sephiroth in the same game as Donald Duck, Kingdom Hearts has grown into its own beast while maintaining the spirit of Square Enix’s historic JRPG franchise. Does Kingdom Hearts 4 need more Final Fantasy? Or do the heroes of Final Fantasy no longer have a place in the Kingdom Hearts series?
