Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Officially Reveals New Vegito Blue Redesign

Although Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is expected to only run for 19 episodes, the remake has dropped surprising new promo art of Super Saiyan Blue Vegito. What’s interesting is that the art simply features the brand new Dragon Ball Super logo exclusively used for Dragon Ball Super 2 and new projects like DBS: Beerus, albeit without the actual Beerus title. This means that a Vegito appearance outside of the Goku Black Saga’s remake may be on the way.

Vegito is one of the most popular characters in Dragon Ball, and him getting a new design for his strongest transformation has been long overdue. Vegito doesn’t appear often, but when he does, it’s always an event. Super Saiyan Blue Vegito VS Merged Zamasu was the first time the Dragon Ball Super anime truly broke the internet, setting a precedent for crazy moments like Goku VS Jiren in the Tournament of Power and the upcoming battle against Moro in Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol.

Vegito is Back For the First Time in 10 Years

Vegito Blue

Believe it or not, it’s been a full decade since Vegito last appeared in the Dragon Ball Super anime. Vegito’s most recent appearance was in Dragon Ball Super Episode 66, which aired on November 13, 2016. Due to the Potara Earrings being retconned into a one-hour fusion, Dragon Ball Super allowed Goku and Vegeta to fuse into Vegito again, but they were so strong, that the earrings weren’t able to actually hold the fusion together for longer than roughly six minutes.

The new Vegito promo art has a more angular look to it than Toriyama and Toyotarou’s regular designs. Vegito’s arms also aren’t nearly as defined as usual. Dragon Ball promo art always ties into what’s going to happen in the anime at the time, so it stands to reason the piece is either set up for Vegito’s fight against Zamasu in the Goku Black Saga remake, or a possible sign that the fusion will make an earlier appearance than in the canon storyline.

Vegito Has the Potential to Be the Ultimate Fighter

In Dragon Ball Z, it’s heavily implied that fusing via the Potara Earrings results in a much stronger fusion than performing the Metamoran Fusion Dance. The evidence is in Vegito being leagues stronger than Gotenks, while receiving quite the synergy boost. The fact the Potara Earrings are divine in nature while the Metamoran Fusion Dance isn’t is also a point in favor of Potaras. That said, their big weakness versus the Fusion Dance is the durability.

Potara Earrings simply cannot handle God Ki, whereas Metamoran Fusions like Gogeta can use Super Saiyan Blue just fine. If Vegito were truly permanent, or could even just stay active for his full half hour, he’d realistically be even stronger than Gogeta. Vegito is a much fiercer warrior than Gogeta, and has more experience fighting life or death battles through Buuhan and Fused Zamasu.
