There are many enjoyable aspects of the social experience in Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 14 that have kept its global player community devoted to the acclaimed MMORPG since its successful relaunch over a decade ago. While the beloved character customization system and diverse selection of battle content are perhaps the two biggest features, one that’s gained quite a bit of traction over time is the incredible portfolio of unique emotes that players can use.
It’s undeniable that many emotes in Final Fantasy 14 are actually used for general silliness with friends, and one of the best ones so far is the Pose of the Unbound emote. If you want to get this ridiculously funny emote for your Warrior of Light, then you’ll need to know where to get it first.

How to Get Pose of the Unbound Emote in Final Fantasy 14
The Pose of the Unbound emote is a unique one added with the game’s Patch 7.16 update, which highlights the addition of a final questline to Dawntrail’s series of Role Quests. To access it, you will first need to complete the ‘Dawntrail’ Main Scenario Quest (MSQ) along with the following five Role Questlines:
- ‘Dreams of a New Day‘ – Tank Role Quest (to complete this questline you need a Tank job at Level 90 or above)
- ‘An Antidote For Anarchy‘ – Healer Role Quest (to complete this questline you need a Healer job at Level 90 or above)
- ‘A Hunter True‘ – Melee DPS Role Quest (to complete this questline you need a Melee DPS job at Level 90 or above)
- ‘The Mightiest Shielf‘ – Ranged Physical DPS Quest (to complete this questline you need a Physical Ranged DPS job at Level 90 or above)
- ‘Heroes and Pretenders‘ – Magical Ranged DPS Quest (to complete this questline you need a Magical Ranged DPS job at Level 90 or above)
All of these questlines can be found at Xbalyav Ty’e (X:12.4, Y:14.7) in Tuliyollal, the downstairs restaurant where you previously met up with Wuk Lamat during Dawntrail’s MSQ. Look for the various NPCs in charge of these questlines, and make sure that you have the appropriate job role equipped (Level 90 or above) to start them.
Once you’ve done all of those, the ‘Picking Up the Torch’ Level 100 quest will become available via Rral Majun, who can be found at the same restaurant in Tuliyollal at (X:12.3, 14.6), standing near the bar counter. A conversation with her and Br’uk Evu nearby will ensue, and soon your Warrior of Light will learn that Apyaahi, the founder of the Passage of the Unbound, is seeking new leaders for her questionable organization.
Essentially, it’s your job to seek her out and find out what her true intentions are by acting as one of her potential candidates. Upon completing the ‘Imposing Views’ Level 100 quest you’ll receive the Pose of the Unbound emote as a giftbox reward.
Once unlocked, it can be found under the ‘General’ tab of your emotes menu. It allows you to strike an incredibly eccentric pose that many players have already likened to the ones postured by iconic characters in the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series. It may very well be an intentional homage, given the series’ longstanding popularity in Japan and abroad, and if you’ve ever wanted to have your Warrior of Light resemble one of those characters, this emote can provide a golden opportunity for that.
Make sure to complete the rest of this final Role questline as doing so will also get you the ‘Bright Bustle’ Orchestion Roll and the ‘Sweet Justice’ title as an achievement reward for completing the ‘Bar the Passage’ Level 100 quest, the last one that sees Apyaahi’s dangerous machinations come to an end.
Also don’t forget to check out the adjustments made to rewards provided with the completion of the Cloud of Darkness Chaotic Alliance Raid, which has created a divisive discourse among those actively participating in the game’s newest type of battle content.
