Final Fantasy 14 players will soon be able to pick up a four-seat mount for free, but only for a limited time. Though the mount has been given away in the past, it’s only available for a short period whenever it appears, so Final Fantasy 14 players shouldn’t miss this opportunity.
Aside from the iconic Final Fantasy series staple of ridable Chocobos, there are tons of mounts available in the MMORPG. Gamers can drive or fly around on everything from giant fat cats to handfuls of balloons, but multi-seat mounts remain relatively rare. The ability to have multiple party members hop onto a ride is convenient, and also makes for a lot of fun screenshot opportunities, but these mounts often cost real money or require a ton of grinding to unlock. That makes this particular mount an even better opportunity.
Final Fantasy 14 Brings Back the Regalia Type-G Four-Seat Mount
Beginning on September 24, Warriors of Light will be able to pick up one of Final Fantasy 14‘s best mounts, the Regalia Type-G. The Regalia Type-G is a special four-seater mount that’s only made available on select occasions when the game hosts a special Final Fantasy 15 crossover. Fans of that game will recognize the Regalia as the convertible car belonging to Noctis that the cast of Final Fantasy 15 makes their way around the world in. Players will have until October 13 to complete a questline called A Nocturne for Heroes, in which Noctis finds himself in Eorzea.

While gamers won’t need to spend any real money to unlock the mount, there is some work required to get it. Players will need to have at least one job at level 50 and have completed the main quest “The Ultimate Weapon.” Once A Nocturne for Heroes is complete, players can head to the Gold Saucer to purchase the Regalia mount, Noctis’ hairstyle, and a Noctis Triple Triad card. However, interested players may want to start working on earning MGP as soon as possible, as getting the items requires a fair amount. The Regalia Type-G costs 200,000 MGP, while the hairstyle is 20,000 MGP, and the card 10,000 MGP. Thankfully, earning points isn’t too difficult, but may take some time.
Although the Final Fantasy 15 crossover event will be identical to the times it was held previously, players who would like to participate again can do so. It’s been a couple years since the crossover was last held, so many Final Fantasy 14 Sprouts haven’t yet had the chance to get the car. Adding to that, while there are a number of 4-seat and 8-seat mounts available in the game, most require substantial grinding or completing difficult high-level content, or spending real money on the Final Fantasy 14 Online Store. The Chocobo Carriage, for example, costs $35.99 USD.
While there’s still plenty to do and enjoy in Final Fantasy 14, the game is currently in the calm before the storm leading to its next expansion release. Evercold, the sixth Final Fantasy 14 expansion, will launch in January 2027, and will bring with it two new jobs, new areas, and a brand-new story to discover. When the time comes, chances are a lot of groups will be making their way through the new zones together in the Regalia Type-G.
