Gears of War: E-Day brings four different classes to pick and use in the multiplayer modes, and each of them plays a unique role. Ideally, you’ll want to build a team that’s well-balanced and has all bases covered.
That said, not every class is built the same, and you’ll want to pick one that suits your gameplay.
Complete Gears of War: E-Day class tier list
To separate the four available classes, I have used just two tiers.
- S-tier represents the strongest classes in the game that will also suit the beginners.
- A-tier classes represent slightly harder choices that will require proper builds.
S-tier
- Assault: This is the best class to learn the multiplayer side of things. Whether you’re playing in Horde Siege or Versus, the Assault class is equally important. This is a highly versatile class whose primary role is to do damage and play flexibly. The Lancer Mk1 is very easy to use, adding to the ease of this class. If you have never played Gears, pick this class, and you won’t be disappointed.
A-tier
- Breacher: In experienced hands, the Breacher is an S-tier class. This is the pure aggro-styled class in the game where you want to get into the face of the enemy. You can make use of your Injector to refill and restore your lost health. However, you have to understand shooting angles and cover (especially in the Versus mode). Play too passively, and you’ll be failing your main role as a Breacher. Go too hard, and you’ll die before you can restore your health. That said, your main job is to be in the line of fire to protect your allies.
- Marksman: No other class does as much damage as the Marksman. The Longshot can one-shot most things in the game. However, you’ll have to be extremely precise with your shooting since the weapon comes with longer reloads. If you’re a beginner, it’s best to avoid this class until you get to master the basics.
- Medic: This is perhaps the most important class in my books since every team needs a healer. Without a Medic, any team will be at a significant disadvantage. However, you have to communicate well with your allies to make sure that you’re at the correct locations as required. Your job is to not go after the enemies yourself; instead, help your teammates stay alive for longer so that they can take care of the opponents.
