Have You Seen the Trailer for the Upcoming Servants of Freedom Warbond? Helldivers 2 Players Are Loving the Concept

Finally, some new content! As much as the players adore the game, they have been a bit impatient for something new and shiny. Well, the wait is almost over. Helldivers 2 developers just announced that a new Warbond, Servants of Freedom, is coming on February 4. The devs also shared a trailer, showing off everything that’s to come.

What Is in the Servants of Freedom?

Let’s start with the trailer for the new Warbond. It dropped unexpectedly on February 4. In just 58 seconds, the devs managed to perfectly encapsulate the spirit of Manage Democracy in all of its glory. This trailer alone made some new players enlist, for sure.

Now, let’s dive into the details. The accompanying blog revealed details about all the items in this Warbond. Katherine Baskin, aka Baskinator, the Community Manager, shared what you should expect from Servants of Freedom.

The Warbond will feature two armor sets, a primary weapon, a secondary weapon, a Stratagem (the portable Hellbomb, nonetheless), a throwable, two player banners, two capes, an emote/victory pose (Raise Weapon), and a player title (Server of Freedom). So far, so good, let’s go over some of the details.

Probably the most exciting addition is the portable Hellbomb. Baskinator noted: “That’s the B-100 Portable Hellbomb, a beacon of democratic truth in a convenient backpack format, which can be easily activated by you or a helpful teammate. Just be sure to drop the pack and clear the area once it’s active because the B-100’s got a ten-second countdown that can’t be canceled”.

The new primary, the LAS-17 Double-Edged Sickle, reportedly burns the wielder as well as “everything in its path”. The secondary weapon, the GP-31 Ultimatum grenade pistol, is described as a “grenade launcher on steroids”.

Baskinator continued: “The G-50 Seeker is a small drone that follows you and explodes near enemies when detected. The Seeker can also target pinged enemies, like sending it on a little crusade”. Big booms should boom big, right?

Finally, the IE-3 Martyr and the IE-12 Righteous are both medium armors. They have the Integrated Explosives passive, in other words – your corpse will explode, taking out enemies (and probably teammates). Helmets with stoic expressions and capes adorned with your enlistment oath will complete this democratic look.

Helldivers 2 Players Adore the New Warbond

Obviously, Helldivers 2 players loved the Servants of Freedom Warbond. Arrowhead developers somehow always manage to create a perfect look. This time, they delivered, again.

WaffleOffice noted: “Hyped about pretty much everything in it, except the armor passive. That just made me sad because I like the armor a lot, but the passive seems like more of a hindrance than a buff. Especially considering what you lose by not choosing other armor”.

PotentialCall5824 stated: “The portable hellbomb looks really interesting and the armor is very unique and cool. There’s a lot of things that look cool about this Warbond and I’m excited for it to come out”.

Overall, we’d say this Warbond will be one of the good ones, so we’re looking forward to testing everything out. In the meantime, as you know, the first anniversary is fast approaching, so keep an eye on the wormhole, something fishy (um, Squiddy?) is going on. Of course, if you want to join us, we’ll be on Lesath, fighting for the Major Order. For Liberty and Super Earth.
