Here are our PS Plus Premium and Extra games for October

Sony has announced the games coming to PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra in October, and there’s a good mix of modern hits and older gems to sink your teeth into for the spooky month of Halloween.

Here’s the October PS Plus Extra and Premium list:

  • The Midnight Walk – 14th October (PS5)
  • Mafia: The Old Country – 20th October (PS5)
  • Horizon Forbidden West – 20th October (PS5, PS4)
  • Mycopunk – 20th October (PS5)
  • Poppy’s Playtime: Chapter 2 – 27th October (PS5, PS4)
  • Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition – 27th October (PS5, PS4)
  • Monster Energy Supercross 25: The Official Video Game – 27th October (PS5)

And just for PS Plus Premium:

  • Dino Crisis 2 – 2oth October (PS5, PS4)
  • RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition – 20th October (PS5, PS4)

The only day-one headliner this month is Mycopunk, a colorful co-op looter shooter where you and your ragtag crew of robot misfits work to exterminate fungal alien baddies or otherwise risk being thrown in the scrap heap by your corporate overlords. The game’s been in Steam early access for over a year and user reviews have been quite good the entire time, too! Mycopunk’s 1.0 goes live at the same time as its console debut – it looks like a fun Borderlands-ish romp with pals, at least.

Mycopunk aside, there’s a few other highlights that might be worth checking out if you haven’t already. Guerilla Games’ vibrant robo-dino sequel Horizon Forbidden West worms its way back into the subscription service, while last year’s Mafia: The Old Country strolls in for the first time. The dramatic mob prequel shed the series’ open-world wrapper for a slighter, more focused structure. Eurogamer’s review had good things to say about it.

But it wouldn’t be a good October lineup without some scares, and The Midnight Walk and Poppy’s Playtime are here to deliver. Capcom’s PS1 classic Dino Crisis 2 doesn’t lean quite so hard into survival horror territory as the first game, but bloodthirsty dinosaurs and tight, sometimes suffocating camera angles make it a good Halloween treat anyway, I think.

What are you playing from this month’s selection? As always, you can learn more about the service with our guide to PS Plus and all the available games.
