Despite his fearsome name, Wolfe, an outlaw in Crimson Desert, is actually disguised as another animal — a huge boar hiding in the Pailune forests in Silver Wolf Mountain.
Players can find his bounty notice soon after completing Chapter 7, alongside the other Pailune outlaws (12 in total). Finding and capturing Wolfe isn’t too challenging in the game and involves no combat at all, but you will have to have a keen sense of tracking. Here’s how to do it.
Crimson Desert: Things I Only Learned After Playing For 50 Hours
It’s no secret that Crimson Desert has a truly massive list of features, and some might take time to fully grasp and start using regularly.
How to Unlock and Capture Wolfe in Crimson Desert
- First things first, to unlock most of the side quests in Pailune, players have to progress the main story up to Chapter 8, fully liberating the entire region from Lonely Jackals and Black Bears in the process.
- At this point, players naturally unlock playable Oongka in Crimson Desert and can tackle most side quests, including bounties, as either him or Kliff.
If you’re wondering what my Kliff wears here, it’s the full Crowcaller set (also known as the Blackwing armor set). Here’s how you can get all the pieces to look cool and menacing while chasing outlaws in Pailune.
- As players explore the city of Pailune after liberating the region, most of the 12 outlaw notices can be found on the wooden poles in the area. At times, several different bounty notices appear right next to each other, so just pay attention to the purple icons on your mini-map.
- When discovering the Wolfe bounty notice, make sure to examine it to add the quest to the journal and be able to track the outlaw down via the map.
- Wolfe wears a full boar disguise, including a distinct cloak with a boar head. He can be found hiding in the forest right next to several boars in Silver Wolf Mountain, northwest of Pailune city (see the image above). There are a couple of Abyss Nexus fast travel points nearby.
- Upon approaching Wolfe, he might attempt to flee, so pay attention to his icon on the mini-map and quickly chase him down, as his disguise can work pretty well in the wilderness. Chase and tackle him (X/A) to be able to hit him and tie him up.
- Since players can’t teleport while carrying a bounty, Wolfe has to be delivered to the Pailune jail on horseback. It’s a relatively long ride (around 1300 m), but fortunately, it’s easy to avoid any potential enemies if you are following the direct road to the city.
- Turn Wolfe in to the guard to receive a reward of 12 silver and some Greymane contribution points. The shop for spending those can be found right next to the jail, and there are several items available for purchase.
Like with most bounties in Crimson Desert, Wolfe needs to be delivered alive for a full reward. If you kill him and deliver only his body, you’ll get only half of the promised money.
Dozens of bounty outlaws await the players in Crimson Desert’s vast multi-region world, and you can find guides for many of them to make the process of capturing them easier. Some are even tied to other quests, like the Dante the Great Thief bounty — one of the latest to unlock in Hernand for players looking for the full completion of the starting region.
