The map in The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu starts locked, but you can reveal hidden areas using Fort Logbooks. These logbooks are found only in jungle locations that contain a Fort.
This guide explains how they work and how to locate every logbook in the jungle you are exploring.
How to find a Fort Logbook in The Mount: Omen of Cthulhu
Forts in The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu aren’t palatial houses; instead, you’ll find small tents tucked in the jungle’s inner areas. The route to these forts can be confusing.
In this section, we refer to the earliest expedition where you can obtain your first logbook. After completing the introductory expedition, which teaches the basics, the second expedition tasks you with finding that logbook.
You can tackle this with friends or go solo; I chose to go alone for convenience.

Start at the shore and first explore the area to the right. You won’t find the logbook there, but you will discover valuables that aid the expedition.
Afterward, return to the spawn point and head left. Continue along the left side until you reach a small shack containing a medallion. The medallion reveals all the island’s riches, making exploration easy. I incidentally found the medallion after discovering the logbook, so you can definitely complete the expedition without it.

Follow the path until it rises. Turn right to face a group of enemies and undead; clear them. Then continue straight to a locked door that can be opened only from one side. Our fort lies beyond this door, and your logbook can be found there.

Turn left from the locked door to find stairs leading upward. Climb them, then go straight until you reach another set of stairs. In my play through, only one enemy blocks the path; defeat the undead and drop on the left side.

You may take slight damage, but it isn’t a concern. Continue straight, and the path will eventually drop you into the fort. After a few seconds, a quick time transition between past and present occurs. When it finishes, pick up the logbook.

Open the locked door from inside to access your oxcart. If you have collected enough valuables to complete the expedition contract, simply return to the ship.
When you open the map after reaching the ship, you’ll see white dots around certain areas. Those dots indicate where a logbook can be found.
