Pro Heroes in My Hero Academia use their Quirks to fight Villains and protect civilians, and the No. 1 Hero usually possesses an incredibly powerful Quirk. Every Quirk is useful in its own way, but certain abilities are too weak to produce a top-ranked Hero. That said, there are several Quirks that can boost anyone to the top spot.
Most of these Quirks fall into the Emitter category, which is to be expected since they are the most common, but at least one Mutant and Transformation Quirk are strong enough to make someone the top Hero. A few of these Quirks have already produced Top 3 Heroes, meaning the top spot is attainable. Some of these Quirks belonged to Villains, but that does not mean that they cannot create a top Hero if given the opportunity.
My Hero Academia: 8 Heroes Closest To All Might In Power
All Might remains the undisputed strongest character in My Hero Academia, though these powerful heroes are not far behind.

Erasure
- User: Erasure Hero: Eraser Head
Erasure is a long-range Emitter Quirk with several “weaknesses,” but it is still an overpowered ability. It’s so effective, that Tomura Shigaraki weakened and attempted to destroy it multiple times. It is also the main reason why Shota Aizawa would have been on the short list of characters who could have potentially become All Might’s successor. Simply put, it can nullify the Quirk of anyone the user looks at.
Erasure does not completely cancel Mutant Quirks, and it requires the user to see their target’s physical body. They cannot blink because Erasure will deactivate, and if someone has more than one Quirk, it will nullify their original power. That said, Erasure can nullify multiple Quirks at the same time, which makes subduing Villains a lot easier. Erasure can stop Tomura’s Decay, Dabi’s flames, and make All For One powerless. Since it can literally save a city from destruction, it could definitely make someone the No. 1 Hero.

Half-Cold Half-Hot
Half-Cold Half-Hot is the perfect combination of two powerful elemental Quirks, and it has allowed Shoto to become Class 1-A’s most successful Pro Hero. The right side of the user’s body can produce ice, cold, and frost, while their left side generates intense flames and heat. With enough training, the user can combine these elements to make cold fire, which is capable of burning and freezing targets simultaneously.
The user can incinerate a Villain with their flames, and they can use their ice to immobilize and trap Villains. Both elements can be used to boost the user’s movement speed, and the cold fire can neutralize an explosion with the destructive power of a nuclear weapon. This means it has already saved hundreds of lives. Half-Cold Half-Hot has already helped Shoto become the No. 2 Hero, so it has the power to claim the top spot.
My Hero Academia: 9 Quirks That Would Become Broken After Awakening
These Quirks in My Hero Academia would become broken after going through an awakening.

Fiber Master
- User: Fiber Hero: Best Jeanist
Fiber Master is a powerful mid-range Emitter Quirk that has allowed Best Jeanist to become one of the best string users in anime. All For One admitted that he wanted to steal Fiber Master because of its strength, but he refused to take it because it takes a long time to master. The user can control fiber, which gives them power over every type of cloth. That said, Denim is the easiest cloth to control, while sweats are the hardest.
Everyone wears clothing, so unless a Villain is naked, it is virtually impossible for them to resist Fiber Master’s power. With telekinesis, the user can restrain Villains with their own clothes. They can also knock Villains out by wrapping threads around their necks and suffocating them. The user can also control massive carbon fiber wires that can restrain someone as big and as strong as Gigantomachia. Fiber Master has already produced a No. 3 Pro Hero, so No. 1 would be within reach.

Fierce Wings
Fierce Wings allowed Hawks to become the previous generation’s No. 2 Hero, and if Endeavor had retired earlier, there is no doubt that it would have pushed him to the top spot. It is a Mutant Quirk that gives the user a pair of large, red wings made up of dozens of feathers that can all be controlled telekinetically. This also makes Fierce Wings one of My Hero Academia‘s best body manipulation Quirks.
Hawks displayed how effective these feathers are in Pro Hero work, as he was able to save a lot of people from a collapsing building in less than five minutes. The feathers can be used to subdue most Villains within seconds, and they can combine to form feather swords that are sharp enough to cut through flesh. They can even take down empowered Nomu.
4
Manifest
- User: Omnivore Hero: Suneater
Manifest is a Transformation Quirk that has placed Tamaki Amajiki, one of U.A. High School’s top students, into the top twenty. The user can enhance their body with the characteristics of whatever they eat. Manifest works best with traditional food, but the user can also eat things like crystals as long as they can be properly digested. Once something has been fully digested, the user loses its characteristics, but they can get it back by eating more.
What makes Manifest one of the strongest Pro Hero Quirks is the fact that the user can alter their body with multiple transformations simultaneously. They can also control which feature they acquire and its size. As a result, the user’s fighting style becomes highly versatile and unpredictable. The user can go from clobbering Villains with massive tentacles, to blasting them with a biological laser cannon.
My Hero Academia: 8 Most Destructive Quirks Ranked (#1 Can Destroy A Country)
These quirks are extremely destructive and can deal heavy damage in the MHA series.
3
Double
Double may not be one of the most lethal Quirks, but it has the power to not only take over a city, but potentially an entire country. The user can make a copy of anything they touch, including other living beings. The copies might not be as strong or as durable as the original, but they can still use the original’s Quirk. This applies to Double’s user as well, which means they can theoretically produce an endless army of clones.
If the Heroes had Double on their side during the Paranormal Liberation War and Final War, they would have defeated the Villains quickly and with minimal casualties. Double is inherently a great support Quirk, and it would make rescue operations go much faster. Twice was a Villain, but if he had been a Hero with a decent amount of charisma, he could have easily risen to the rank of No. 1 by using Double to save countless people in multiple locations.
2
Dark Shadow
- User: Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi
Dark Shadow was one of Class 1-A’s strongest Emitter Quirks, and it has already helped Fumikage Tokoyami get into the Top 20, so there is a real chance that it could get him to No. 1, especially if it awakens. All For One stated that Dark Shadow is on par with Endeavor’s Hellflame Quirk in terms of strength, so it is clearly top tier. The only real downside is that Dark Shadow is most effective at night.
The user can summon a shadowy, monster-like being from their body whenever they want. It technically acts like a living appendage, and protects its user from attacks. The shadow attacks on the user’s behalf, typically from range, but it can also cover the user like a suit of armor. When used properly, Dark Shadow can take out multiple Villains in quick succession with a single deployment.
My Hero Academia: 10 Strongest Reality Altering Quirks, Ranked
Which reality altering Quirks in My Hero Academia are the strongest?
1
Overhaul
Overhaul is one of the few overpowered Quirks that can destroy a city, and although it was used by a Villain in the anime, it could be just as effective for a Pro Hero. The user can disassemble and then reassemble matter with their hands, which means they can control matter however they wish. The user can absorb others and use their abilities, which is not what a Hero would normally do, but under the most extreme circumstances, they could.
Overhaul allows the user to blow another person’s body apart with a simple touch, but a Villain would choose to temporarily rearrange a Villain’s body to immobilize them. Overhaul can save people by clearing rubble instantly, and it can create emergency shelters if needed. Overhaul is arguably the most powerful Quirk in My Hero Academia, so creating a No. 1 Hero would pretty much be guaranteed.
