The Rasengan remains an incredibly relevant jutsu in Boruto Uzumaki’s time. The Boruto series continues to expand Naruto Uzumaki’s signature technique, introducing new and powerful Rasengan variants that could obliterate enemies in an instant. One of these new variants is Rasengan Uzuhiko, which Boruto Uzumaki learned with the help of Kashin Koji’s foresight during the timeskip.
Naruto: 8 Strongest Dojutsu, Ranked
Here are the most powerful dojutsu in Naruto, ranked from weakest to strongest.
Among the many variants of Rasengan in both Naruto and Boruto, only a few compare to Uzuhiko’s power. In theory, Rasengan Uzuhiko is infused with virtually unlimited power, drawn from the planet’s chakra. As such, these weaker Rasengan variants are clearly inferior to Boruto’s Uzuhiko.

Vanishing Rasengan
The Rasengan Built for Deception
When it comes to Rasengan variants perfect for surprise attacks, Boruto’s Vanishing Rasengan is undeniably one of the best. It is a trick variant that disappears mid-flight and unexpectedly reappears before impact, all thanks to the lightning chakra Boruto subconsciously infuses in the jutsu.
However, while the Vanishing Rasengan is excellent for stealth and surprise attacks, it pales in comparison to the Rasengan Uzuhiko, which not only draws power from a far larger energy source but also leaves a persistent effect instead of a one-time surprise attack.

Rasengan: Flash
Fusion of Wind and Tailed Beast Energy
In The Last: Naruto the Movie, Naruto Uzumaki infused Kurama’s chakra into his standard Wind Release: Rasengan to come up with another variant, the Rasengan: Flash. It is similar in size to a standard Rasengan but features noticeable spiraling wind around it.
Naruto fires it out like a beam capable of cutting through explosions and even uses it for aerial propulsion. Given its applications, it’s clear that it does not match the debilitating power of Rasengan Uzuhiko. Much like the Vanishing Rasengan, it prioritizes utility over overwhelming force.

Twin Rasengan
Naruto’s Double Rasengan Assault
In battle, there’s no such thing as too many Rasengan, and unleashing two at once with the Twin Rasengan jutsu is a reliable way to secure a decisive victory. With this technique, Naruto Uzumaki literally wields a Rasengan in each hand. At some point in Naruto the Movie 2, Naruto was able to use the Gelel Rasengan and Demon Fox Rasengan simultaneously.
Later in the original series, Naruto was aided by his clones, allowing him to form two Rasengan simultaneously with greater ease. Too bad, Boruto doesn’t need two Rasengan to overwhelm his foes with Uzuhiko. He simply needs one Rasengan Uzuhiko to send his foes staggering away.

Rasendan
A Rasengan With Massive Long-Range Power
Rasendan, otherwise known as Spiraling Bullet, is an advanced variant that Momoshiki Otsutsuki utilized in Boruto. Unlike most Rasengan variants, which have a short range, the Rasendan is fired as a ranged attack. It is one of the fastest variants in the series and clearly one of the most unavoidable jutsu.
Yet still, compared to Uzuhiko’s overall capability, the Rasendan falls short. Although it introduces a long-ranged Rasengan variant, it lacks the power to take down opponents decisively, unlike Uzuhiko.

Magnet Release: Rasengan
A Rasengan That Immobilizes Enemies on Contact
In Naruto Uzumaki’s Sage of Six Paths form, he gained the ability to create a Rasengan infused with Shukaku’s chakra, giving rise to the Magnet Release: Rasengan variant. Designed to instantly seal an opponent’s movements, it can immobilize targets on contact and stand as one of the most striking Rasengan variants in the series.
Meanwhile, when it comes to immobilizing an opponent’s movements, Boruto’s Rasengan Uzuhiko clearly holds the advantage. With its debilitating effects, it can leave anyone disoriented, preventing them from using jutsu or even maintaining their balance. The worst part is that the effect has no clear end unless Boruto chooses to deactivate it.
3
Rasengan: Unison
Boruto and Kawaki’s Combined Karma Power
To perform Rasengan: Unison, it’s crucial to have a trusted partner whom Boruto knows will have his back at all costs. At the time, that trusted partner was Kawaki Uzumaki, who shared his Karma power with Boruto to amplify his Rasengan and blast Boro’s upper body to pieces.
Unfortunately, this variant of Rasengan is not powerful enough to penetrate a sand shield or a water pillar, at least in one of Naruto’s licensed games. To that end, it goes without saying that Boruto’s Rasengan Uzuhiko is a far more effective choice for delivering a finishing blow to opponents even more powerful than Boro.
2
Compression Rasengan
A Rasengan Designed to Penetrate Defenses
Before mastering Rasengan Uzuhiko, Boruto Uzumaki developed the Compression Rasengan and its advanced form, the Super Compression Rasengan. This new variant is designed to penetrate even the most impervious armor and defenses, allowing him to knock out powerful foes. However, using Compression Rasengan isn’t for the weak-bodied, as the recoil is no joke.
Despite the Compression Rasengan’s impressive penetration power, it is far inferior to Rasengan Uzuhiko’s debilitating effects. Uzuhiko isn’t designed just to break through defenses and knock out opponents but to trap Boruto’s targets in an unending state of vertigo until their bodies give out and die in the process. On top of that, Uzuhiko produces minimal recoil, if any, for the user.
1
Baryon Rasengan
The Impact Blew Isshiki Otsutsuki Away
Among Naruto Uzumaki’s forms in both Naruto and Boruto, Baryon Mode stands as one of the most powerful, though it comes with severe consequences. While in this state, Naruto unleashes a Rasengan powerful enough to blast Isshiki Otsutsuki away. In fact, Isshiki was so overwhelmed that he never managed to shrink Naruto’s Baryon Rasengan at all.
While Baryon Rasengan may be one of Naruto Uzumaki’s strongest Rasengan variants, Uzuhiko still exceeds its concept, impact, and sustained destructive potential. Sadly, as the battle continues, the Baryon Rasengan gradually loses power compared to Uzuhiko, which operates on a theoretically limitless scale.
