Ranked every flying mount in Palworld, and the fastest one isn’t even on top.

The best flying mounts in Palworld are the ones that make traveling through biomes seem seamless. While Pals like Xenolord and Eidrolon are among the best flying Pals, you still need to unlock their saddles, which are in the endgame, above level 60. Luckily, there are Pals like Shadowbeak who are amazing as flying mounts with a saddle that you can craft in mid-game.

As an honorable mention, Suzaku is very useful as a flying mount, as it has one of the highest Stamina stats in the game. While it’s relatively slow compared to other flying mounts, it has enough Stamina to reach Sunreach Islands without using a portal. Unfortunately for Suzaku, the Pals I’ll list below are faster and better as flying mounts in Palworld.

Best Flying Pals In Palworld 1.0

In this list, I’ll rank Pals based on how useful they are as mounts. That doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll judge them based on their speed alone, as there are other factors that make a good flying mount. After testing, these are my picks for the best flying mounts in Palworld:

  1. Xenolord
  2. Jetragon
  3. Eidrolon
  4. Selyne
  5. Shaolong
  6. Panthalus
  7. Frostallion
  8. Shadowbeak
  9. Suzaku

Xenolord

On top of this list, and in my opinion, the best flying mount is Xenolord. They’re one of the fastest Pals in Palworld. But speed isn’t what makes them the best, as faster Pals exist. It’s Xenolord’s insanely high Stamina that allows them to fly for almost triple the period of other Pals. While other Pals need passive skills that prevent them from draining all their Stamina when flying, Xenolord has that already built-in with their extreme speed. Giving them more Stamina from passive skills means even more air superiority for the flying dark dragon.

Jetragon

It’s no surprise that Jetragon’s saddle is at level 79, as it’s the fastest Pal in Palworld. Whenever I want to go on a quick hunt session, I go for Jetragon as my flying mount, since they’re too fast and can get me anywhere in no time.

Eidrolon

Eidrolon and Eidrolon Ignis are in between Xenolord and Jetragon when it comes to speed and Stamina. They’re slightly faster than Xenolord, while having more Stamina than Jetragon. You can make them even faster by pairing them with Pals that share their elements, like dark and dragon-type Pals, to increase Eidrolon’s speed.

Selyne

Selyne is notably slower than Xenolord, Jetragon, Eidrolon, and Shaolong. However, this Pal has the same Stamina as Xenolord, which makes them much more reliable in the air than most flying mounts. If having this amount of Stamina isn’t enough, what makes Selyne special as a flying mount is their small humanoid model. It allows you to access tight spaces and navigate freely near land when flying.

Shaolong

Shaolong is on the list purely for their speed, as only Jetragon is faster than them in Palworld. On the other hand, Shaolong’s Stamina is even lower than Jetragon’s, which is a problem that needs to be fixed with passive skills. Shaolong is also a water-type Pal, so you can ride Shaolong as a flying mount and go salvage in the ocean at the same time.

Panthalus

Panthalus looks extremely slow when flying above islands, but they’re actually very fast. They also don’t have any Stamina drain, so you can fly for hours, and they won’t get tired. Not having a Stamina drain is especially useful when you’re crossing oceans on their back, since Panthalus will just fly there. The only downside Panthalus has is their size, as it’s not practical at all to move around. You can’t even dismount them, as they’re too big; your character will just float or stand above their body. They can only be useful if you want to travel long distances, like crossing the ocean from one island to another.

Frostallion

Frostallion and Frostallion Noct are flying mounts that are slightly faster than Selyne while having the same Stamina as Selyne and Xenolord. That should be enough to put them among the best flying mounts in Palworld. Unfortunately, they’re a dual-type mount with both a flying and walking animation, which makes them struggle to stay airborne over water. While you can stop and regain a mount’s Stamina over water, Frostallion will just fall into the water and won’t regain Stamina again until they get out of it.

Shadowbeak

Shadowbeak is a reliable mid-game flying mount that will stay with you until the endgame when you get the better flying Pals ranked higher in this list. You can get them safely when your level is around 45, and craft their saddle at level 47. Shadowbeak shares the same speed as Selyne with slightly less Stamina. However, their Partner Skill makes them even faster while flying.
