Rockstar Games has given players plenty of reasons to be excited about Grand Theft Auto 6, from its sprawling Vice City to its increasingly detailed look at everyday life across Leonida, and it’s less than a month from release. In other words, another delay for GTA 6 feels incredibly unlikely, but anything can happen in this industry, with Rockstar North’s co-studio lead Rob Nelson recently discussing its upcoming release date.
As fans know, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos will lead the next criminal saga, with Rockstar showcasing everything from neon-lit nightlife and busy highways to wildlife roaming the state’s varied environments. The studio’s attention to detail has become a major talking point, especially as fans continue picking apart every glimpse of GTA 6‘s open world for discoveries about what could be Rockstar’s most ambitious game yet.
Rockstar is Confident in GTA 6’s Release Date
Nelson directly addressed release date concerns in a statement to Famitsu, responding to the suggestion that the Grand Theft Auto 6 Extended Look left little reason to worry about the game’s quality, with some apprehension remaining for GTA 6‘s release date. Nelson offered a confident answer when asked whether the game would actually arrive in November:
“I’d be thrilled if you feel confident about the quality. And it will definitely be released on time.”
Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.
At this point, GTA 6 getting delayed again would likely lead to immense backlash, as its November 19 release date is not far away. A delayed game is better than a bad game launch, though, so it’s understandable if some folks are still apprehensive. But, based on everything coming out of Rockstar, it stands to reason that fans will be exploring GTA 6‘s Vice City sooner rather than later. That said, there’s still a lot for GTA 6‘s marketing to hit.
The Extended Look gave fans a look at GTA 6 in action, while Rockstar has revealed key details for its weather and wildlife, highlighted environments around the entire map of GTA 6, and shown off vehicles, pre-orders, and more. Rockstar has even touched on Jason and Lucia’s relationship in GTA 6, as well as hinted at story bits here and there. Overall, though, it feels like Rockstar has barely scratched the surface. Hopefully, then, this last month ahead of release is explosive for GTA 6 in all the right ways.
November 19 remains the official release date for Grand Theft Auto 6, and Nelson’s comments give fans another reason to believe Rockstar will hit that target. The studio still has to carry the game through the final stretch of development, but the confidence expressed by Nelson is exciting after years of waiting.
