If you’ve completed a Sanctum in Crimson Desert, you might not know about the secret Abyss Cores that you can get from them. Each of the Sanctums has a secret puzzle to solve, and they’re rather simple, once you know how to do it (which we’ll explain below).
Every secret Sanctum puzzle rewards an Abyss Core used for Kuku Recipes, and they can all be completed with a quick use of Blinding Flash. Below, we’ll demonstrate one of these puzzles and give you a guide that shows the location of each of them.
Each sanctum has a unique puzzle like the one we’ve shown below, so you’ll need to visit the locations of all 16 sanctums. We’ve got the locations to these sanctums in the guide below!

How to Complete Sanctum Puzzles in Crimson Desert
- Once you have completed a Sanctum, you can head to the central puzzle (shown above as a reference).
- In the center of the stone, you will notice a blue crystal dial, which you can interact with through Blinding Flash (L1+R1/LB+RB).
- To complete the secret Sanctum puzzle, you need to use Blinding Flash on the center blue crystal (L1+R1+L1) whenever the dial is crossing through a blue square.
- When the dial is crossing through the stone, you need to release L1.
- Repeat this until you’ve activated the entire circle, and a unique Abyss Core will drop, which can be picked up with Axiom Force (L3) and placed into the Kuku Pot with Triangle/Y.

If you have completed the puzzle but don’t have the Kuku Pot to store the Abyss Core, then you can visit Carl in the Howling Hill camp and purchase the Core from him for 1 Silver Coin.
How to Use Sanctum Cores in Crimson Desert
- Cores obtained from Sanctums are used in Kuku Recipes at the Kilnden Workshop in Hernand.
