The Elder Scrolls: Elsweyr has officially been confirmed, arriving for fans to enjoy very soon. Any new Elder Scrolls content is always appreciated, and this upcoming release brings fans back to the home of the Khajiit for the first time since Elder Scrolls Online.
It has been a very long time since there was a new mainline Elder Scrolls game. Skyrim launched back in November 2011, and despite a sequel being announced in 2018, Bethesda has been largely quiet on the title ever since. Bethesda’s numerous Skyrim re-releases have become the subject of gamers’ mockery over the years, even if the game enjoys incredible longevity. Oblivion Remastered was released last year, although it’s not quite the same as a full new game. Despite a lack of new titles to enjoy, the Elder Scrolls franchise is still active across other mediums.
Elsweyr is a new region expansion coming to the Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era board game. Chip Theory Games originally released its board game to early backers in 2025, and has since announced multiple significant expansions. Alongside others, the Elsweyr expansion is expected to be released in November 2026, meaning fans won’t have long to wait before they can get their hands on it.
Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.
Because Elder Scrolls: Elsweyr is a region expansion, it’s a significant addition to Betrayal of the Second Era. As well as adding Elsweyr, it also comes with tons of new quests and enemies, as well as two classes: Thief and Berserker. There are also two new skill lines: Medium Armor and Soul Magic. The region itself includes overland map and neoprene clash mat accessories, also including skill dice, enemy chips, quest unit chips, attribute tokens, skill dice, encounter cards, and plenty more.
Home to the Khajiit, Elsweyr is a land of deserts and canyons. Political intrigue abounds in this domain, and dragons prowl the skies, devouring the luckless and unaware. As the fate of Tamriel hangs in the balance, new classes of adventurers make their mark in The Elder Scrolls; thieves and berserkers put their thumbs on the scale and curry favor with the guilds. And unique skills are commonplace in Elsweyr—medium armor and soul magic are ready for the brave and the curious.

- New quests
- New enemies
- New Thief and Berserker classes
- New Medium Armor and Soul Magic skill lines
The Elder Scrolls: Elsweyr is just one of five new expansions coming to Betrayal of the Second Era next month. Other expansions include Fur and Fang and Shadows of Oblivion, giving players plenty to enjoy. Together, the new expansions are priced at $155, though they can be purchased separately. Elsweyr costs $45 on its own, which is on the expensive side because of the amount of new content.
As the land of the Khajiit, Elsweyr has also been touted as a possible setting for The Elder Scrolls 6. Bethesda has yet to confirm where the upcoming sequel will be set, although Xbox CEO Asha Sharma did tease a potential title a few months ago. Other potential settings include Hammerfell and High Rock, each one having its own unique positives and negatives.
