WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 can now be played directly in a web browser through an unofficial fan-made version. The project is based on the portable PSP edition and supports both keyboard controls and connected game controllers, with no software installation required.
The project uses PSP Web Recomp, a technology that recompiles PSP game code into formats that can run in a browser. Unlike cloud gaming services, the version does not rely on streaming gameplay from a remote server. Performance instead depends on the player’s computer and browser.
The browser version also supports save states. Game progress is stored in a virtual memory card within the browser’s local cache, and players can download their save files as backups and import them later. Keyboard controls are supported by default, while PlayStation, Xbox, and other USB or Bluetooth controllers can be connected to a PC.
The project is unofficial and ad-supported, with no affiliation with WWE, THQ, or Yuke’s.
The game also received an unofficial PC port with some improved features.

WWE games have long had a following in India, where wrestling became a fixture of television and gaming parlours. Older SmackDown titles, in particular, became a familiar part of the local gaming scene, with players gathering for multiplayer matches featuring ladders, tables, chairs, and Royal Rumble bouts. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 arrived during that era, offering a roster of more than 70 Superstars and Divas, along with customisation options and the Road to WrestleMania mode. The series’ place in India’s gaming nostalgia is part of a wider affection for WWE, which has maintained a substantial audience in the country.
The browser release follows an unofficial web port of EA Sports Cricket 07. Original Xbox versions of Halo: Combat Evolved and Grand Theft Auto 5, which were likely created using AI, were also briefly playable through web browsers.
