Black Clover had a long and successful run spanning from 2015 to 2026, and the story reached its official end with Yuki Tabata’s last release of Chapter 392. This chapter saw the resolution of the story, with Asta becoming the Wizard King and Yuno taking the helm as the new Golden Dawn Squad Leader. After the first ending of Black Clover on May 1, 2026, we saw the brief return of the story recently on August 4, 2026, with a brand-new 15-page-long chapter covering the coronation of Asta. In addition, a new guidebook featuring secret information was released.
Now, through the new release of Black Clover Volume 38, it has officially been confirmed that Black Clover is making a comeback with another project. This new project, hidden in Black Clover Volume 38, reveals that the series is getting an official new online art book. Currently, information is extremely limited, but we’re excited to see what is featured in the upcoming new release following the end of the manga.
Black Clover Reveals New Online Art Book Release After Manga End
On May 1, 2026, in Jump GIGA’s Spring edition, Yuki Tabata released his last batch of chapters, featuring Black Clover Chapters 390, 391, and 392. These chapters delivered the conclusion of the Black Clover story through Asta’s final confrontation against Yuno for the title of Wizard King. At the time, many fans of Black Clover thought that was the end, but we were all surprised when Tabata announced a new chapter releasing in the guidebook, known as “Perfect Grimoire” on August 4, 2026.
With this new chapter out, we got to witness the full coronation of Asta and see him take on the crown as the 29th Wizard King of Clover Kingdom. With the guidebook and volume 38 now out on sale, fans once again believed the end of Black Clover was officially here. However, to the shock of many, Black Clover Volume 38, which was also released on August 4, revealed a new upcoming project.
On Black Clover’s final volume cover, Shueisha announced that an upcoming official art book for the series was in the works. At the moment, we have little to no information about this new art book. One thing we know is that it’s planned to be an online release. An online release means that it will be widely available for fans when it drops on sale, which is exciting. Of course, many of us would also love to have a physical version of the art book to add to our collections, which is definitely a possibility that could happen if the online sales are successful.
Black Clover New Art Book Content And Release Date Are Unknown
As previously stated, all we know at the moment is that we are getting a new art book for Black Clover that is planned to be released online. Beyond that, there is absolutely no information from Shueisha on what to expect from this art book. Of course, as fans of the series, we can make some assumptions about what it could feature. As with other manga art books, we can expect a lot of high-quality shots of some of Black Clover’s most iconic panels. Beyond that, we’re also all waiting for new illustrations from Yuki Tabata, which we’re sure this new art book will be filled with.
Characters like Asta, Yuno, and Noelle could be getting new illustrations by the original creator, and we might even see the contribution of other Mangakas in it. On top of that, we can expect some concept art never previously unveiled from Yuki Tabata’s time working on the series. We could also see early sketches of characters, and potentially some scrapped concept art and designs that were never supposed to make it to the main story. All this makes the upcoming art book an exciting project, and hyped all of us fans more than ever for the future of Black Clover. With Tabata’s great talent at art, this is the perfect way to bid farewell to Black Clover after the 11-year-long run.
Of course, even though it’s an art book, we can also expect some new information to be released about characters through small comments by Yuki Tabata. Annotations with sketches could be revealed, which could bring forward some information that even the guidebook did not cover upon its release in August. It could be the last chance for Tabata to reveal any new info he has yet to showcase to fans.
Black Clover Online Art Book Release Date
When it comes to the release date, we have no confirmation from Shueisha at the moment. With such limited information on it, it seems it is still in early production by Shueisha. While we can only make assumptions about when it’s coming, many of us anticipate it could be released sometime close to the return of the anime to give it the best chance of selling the most copies possible. Given that the Black Clover anime is returning in October 2026, we could see this art book release sometime around this window, either just before or just after it. For now, we just have to wait for more updates via Shueisha to see what the fate of this art book is.
What To Expect From The Black Clover Franchise After Manga End
When it comes to the Black Clover manga story, it feels that August 4, 2026, was the end of it with the release of the extra chapter covering Asta’s coronation as the Wizard King. August was also a somewhat disappointing month for fans of the Black Clover series who wanted to see more of the story. After all, Tabata’s original plan was to go for a 500+ chapter series, which was sadly cut short due to health issues and time constraints. With him not being able to live a normal life with his family, Black Clover had to come to a rather abrupt end. The work of a mangaka isn’t easy, which greatly affected Tabata’s ability to properly finish Black Clover.
Nevertheless, while Black Clover is over as far as the manga goes, we still have the anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot to look forward to. Black Clover’s anime originally went on hiatus in 2021 due to not having enough manga content to adapt. But now, the anime is returning with what is referred to as Black Clover Season 2 in October 2026. This return is highly anticipated, as we will see a production and animation upgrade. We are also expecting an improvement in pacing, which was a huge issue with the original anime. Since the anime is a long way behind the manga, we can expect that the Black Clover anime will be ongoing for at least a few more years to come. After its return in 2026, Black Clover could be returning for one or two more seasons, depending on the season length.
