Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 – Akaza’s Return was the movie that kickstarted the final trilogy of the Demon Slayer franchise. In Japan, this movie, by Studio Ufotable, made its debut on July 18, 2026. Its international release followed quickly after in August 2026, and it enjoyed a long run in theaters. In Japan, Infinity Castle only went on to end its theatrical screening on April 4, 2026. It has barely been a month since it ended its theatrical screening, and yet, it has officially been announced that it’s returning to theaters once again.
It has now been officially confirmed by Eigkan that Infinity Castle will be screening again in theaters in Japan starting June 12. Its return will span over a whole week, before it leaves theaters again on June 18, 2026. This movie will be screening all over Japan, and fans can catch it at major cinemas like AEON Cinemas, TOHO Cinemas, and Movix, among others. Why Infinity Castle Could Be Returning To More Countries
Infinity Castle returning to Japan was major news for fans wanting to experience this movie once more in theaters, before it officially releases on streaming services and Blu-Ray and DVDs. With that being said, Japan might not be the only country to have this privilege. For one, Mexico currently has a re-release for Infinity Castle that started on May 14 and will end on May 19, 2026.
Other countries could see a return of this movie, likely before its release outside of theaters. North America is definitely a big candidate to get this movie again, and it could be anytime before June 2026. An Infinity Castle return will give the series one final nudge at the Box Office, and cement its position even further.
The Future of Demon Slayer After Part 1
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 experienced unprecedented success. Globally, it even beat its predecessor, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. The future of the franchise is bright, especially as Part 1 was just the beginning of the trilogy and Part 2 is officially on the way.
Currently, Infinity Castle Part 2 is anticipated for a 2027 release. The Kokushibo and Doma battles will be featured in this movie, and they’ll be just as iconic as Akaza’s fight. Last up will be Infinity Castle Part 3, which is theorized to be released sometime in 2029, although it’s hard to say for sure at the moment. The final battle against Muzan will become one of the most legendary endgames of Shonen anime, and fans absolutely cannot wait for it.
