Catch a Brainrot Tier List & Guide [RELEASE]

Here’s everything you need to know about Brainrot move rankings and how combat works. I’ll show you how to assemble the best team with the best movesets for PVP and PVE. Here’s my Catch a Brainrot tier list and guide.

Catch a Brainrot Tier List

Catch a Brainrot PVP/PVE rankings aren’t based on specific Brainrots but instead on the moves they get. Brainrots are only important in terms of the higher level/rarity they are, the better their stats and numbers on moves (Including non-damage moves like Heal). Only the choice of which move you roll on them matters so for the best team, farm Brainrots in the highest-level area you can for the best moves above (Try to get 4+ Level 60+ Brainrots for the end-game bosses with at least a few Insane rarities). That’s why I ranked all the Brainrot moves across the following tiers:

  • SSS-Tier: Universally useful moves that are not build/moveset-specific and are always good.
  • S-Tier: Generally one of these moves is a must-include for energy economy.
  • A-Tier: The 3-Cost Tier which are B-Tier early but become A-Tier later for combining with 2-cost and 5/6-costs for Meta setups.
  • B-Tier: The 4-Cost tier which are A-Tier early but once you get 5 and 6-cost moves, 4-costs become B-Tier since they’re build-specific and situational.
  • C-Tier: The weakest moves per energy point.

Check out the individual move ranking reasons below.

Best Moveset Setups (2/3/4/6 mean any move with that energy cost)

  • Defensive PVP: 2, 2, 3/4 (2 is Shield or Heal, 2 is any DPS, 3/4 is any DPS) – Shield is best for PVP and Heal is also good but you need an Insane rarity Brainrot or higher for a boosted Heal.
  • Offensive PVP: 2, 3, 6 (All DPS moves with 6 being Whirlplool) – You need good energy management here but this has great energy breakpoints for trading damage and use Whirlpool when you steal Energy on-kill.
  • PVE: 234 (All DPS) or 236 (All DPS with Whirlpool) or 22X (One 2-Cost is DPS, the other 2-cost is Heal and then X is either a 4, 5 or 6 DPS move depending on what you have)

Bad Moveset Setups

  • Three equal cost moves: Bad for energy economy and most moves with the same cost do the same thing so you need energy-cost variety.
  • Movesets with no 2-Cost: You need 2-Cost moves for DPS always since they’re the backbone of your energy economy for DPS. Put a 2-Cost DPS move in even if you’re going for a 2-Cost Heal/Shield.
  • Lategame Movesets with Grow a Garden: Avoid using Grow a Garden in the late game since the damage and lifesteal are weak for its energy cost.

Elemental Interactions: There are currently no working elemental interactions and the Ice trait on some Brainrots doesn’t work. This means that Brainrot moves with the same cost are interchangeable and it doesn’t matter which one you get. The exception is MrBeast which has lower damage than other 3-costs.

Does Rarity Matter: Yes, rarity matters since higher-rarity brainrots like Insane/Exclusive have better stat potential and have a higher chance of getting the high-tier moves.

SSS-Tier

Brainrot Move Ranking Reasons
Whirlpool
6-Cost Move
• Whirpool has the highest damage in the game for bursting bosses and farming brainrots
• Note that since the damage-per-energy has diminishing returns after 2-cost Moves, it’s not worth it to sit and charge Whirpool
• Whirpool is best used when you gather Energy from defeating a brainrot for a massive burst of damage
• The only time it’s worth charging for it is if you have 4 Energy from defeating a Brainrot and you charge once for 1 Energy and 1 on start-of-turn then do a Whirpool
Arm
5-Cost Move
• The cheaper Whirlpool that can be pretty good after defeating a Brainrot and taking their energy
• Don’t charge for it more than 1 turn due to the same reasons as Whirlpool
• Still, Whirlpool is a bit better for damage and energy-cost economy since it has higher burst damage and better energy breakpoints in PVP
Shield
2-Cost Move
• The BEST skill-based move in the game for PVP but also decent in PVE against bosses
• Best used when you can predict a high damage move is coming if the boss has 4+ Energy
• Note that Shield always makes you go first but it lasts only for 1 turn
Heal
2-Cost Move
• IMO it’s much better to do Heal and then a 2-Cost move since both the Heal and the damage from that move will be better than Grow a Garden
• Outside of that, Heal is just a great overall utility move to keep a brainrot in the fight against a boss or in PVP

S-Tier

Brainrot Move Ranking Reasons
Shoot, Trident, Feathers, Splash
2-Cost Moves
• The best economy moves in the game that you can either spam or fire off with left over Energy
• They fit into all setups like 2-3-4/2-2-5/2-2-6/2-3-6
• Whichever one you get it’s worth having it and you should always have at least one 2-cost damage move

A-Tier

Brainrot Move Ranking Reasons
Sword, Bite, Wheel Attack, Zap, Bats, Fry
3-Cost Moves
• Like 2-Cost moves but they fit into slightly less moveset loadouts
• Still they’re great to have for action and energy economy and are much easier to fit in than 4-Cost and 5-Cost moves

B-Tier

Brainrot Move Ranking Reasons
Grow a Garden
5-Cost Move
• Grow a Garden can be good but overall it’s just low damage and low healing for a 5-Cost
• It would be much better if it was a 4-Cost or if the damage and healing were pumped up
• As things stand at 5-Cost it’s just poor efficiency for your points where you could be firing off Arms/Whirlpools or a 2-Cost damage move and a Heal for more effectiveness
Fireworks, Match, Bomb, Fire Blast
4-Cost Moves
• 4-Cost Moves are excellent in the early game and can be a part of 2-3-4 setups in the mid-to-late game
• That said, it’s usually better to have a 5/6 cost for more burst damage in the late-game
• Still, if you have the right setup, 4-Costs are still quite good

C-Tier

Brainrot Move Ranking Reasons
Mr Beast
3-Cost Move
• Mr Beast simply deals less damage than other 3-Cost moves like Sword
