This post contains spoilers for Demon Slayer.
Within days of being released in Japanese theaters, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie has broken longstanding records. It’s not often that an anime movie ends up breaking three major records in such a short span. It broke opening day, first day, and single day records of Japanese movies. Despite such an excellent start, there is one major problem.

Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Arc Is Breaking Records
- Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Movie Has broken three big records
- It will set a new benchmark
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie was announced in 2024, and since then, fans have eagerly been awaiting its release. The expectations were high, and judging from the early impressions, it looks like the movie has delivered on every front.
ufotable has always been one of the best studios when it comes to producing an adaptation of the highest grade. The fights combined with the beautiful new songs by LiSA and Aimer elevated the entire movie to a whole other level. Fans who have seen Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle are in awe of ufotable’s hard work and the studio’s dedication. ufotable has produced all the seasons of Demon Slayer as well as the movies, but nothing compares to the Infinity Castle movie.
The movie’s plot is also sublime. It features three massive fights that will affect the rest of the two movies. The heroes had to deal with the threat of Akaza, Kaigaku, and Doma, all of whom were powerful demons blessed by Muzan himself. Even the best Demon Slayers would have trouble dealing with these demons, so it’s hardly surprising that there were casualties on their side as well. With the conclusion of the movie, the heroes took a massive leap towards their goal of taking down Muzan and saving humanity from his clutches.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Trilogy Will Take Years To Finish
The biggest downside of the Infinity Castle trilogy is that it won’t be ending anytime soon. Producing a top-tier movie is not an easy task, and it’s quite obvious that the staff at ufotable had to spend an insanely long time on it. While the movie was announced in 2024, it has been confirmed that it was in the works for three and a half years. This means that ufotable was working on the fourth season and the first Infinity Castle movie side by side. One can only imagine the amount of stress it would have put on the staff as they tried to meet the deadlines.
If the next two movies also have the same production time, then by that rationale the second movie will release in 2028, and the third will premiere sometime in 2031. This means Demon Slayer will reach its conclusion in about six years, which is absurd. Given the amount of time, it’s only natural for some fans to lose interest in the series. So, the people involved with the projects will have to find a way to solve this problem.
When Will Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Trilogy End?
The Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Trilogy Will Likely End In 2029
As previously stated, the trilogy looks likely to conclude in 2031, but there is a slight possibility that it will end in 2029. According to some rumors, ufotable is planning to end the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy within the next four years. Of course, this would mean the studio will have to put in a lot more effort. Whether or not ufotable manages to get the desired outcome remains to be seen.
It would be remiss not to mention the impact of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle on the anime community. After its resounding success, the other action anime series will have to raise the bar and try to match Demon Slayer’s quality. Additionally, many anime might even decide to adapt their final arcs into movies. They will certainly be looking at the numbers of the Infinity Castle movie, and they will undoubtedly be tempted by it.
