Halo Campaign Evolved is available on PC and consoles worldwide, and you can enjoy the game if you have early access. Playing on PC will allow you to get the best available performance by tweaking a few settings. Whether your device is closer to the minimum requirements or the recommended settings, making the changes will allow you to ensure that the game runs smoothly.
This guide will help you get the best possible settings so that you can prevent lag and stutters at all costs.
Best Halo Campaign Evolved graphics settings
Here is a rundown of my current specs that I am using to play the game.
- Ryzen 7 5700X
- AMD Radeon 9060XT 16 GB
- 32 GB of DDR4 RAM
My specifications are closer to the recommended settings, but yours might not be the same. In this guide, I have focused on parameters that will help those whose devices are closer to the minimum requirements, since they will have more chances of encountering lags and stutter.
- Frame Rate Limit: 60 FPS is the best limit to try right now. While setting this higher allows you to get frames, I have encountered minor lags on certain occasions. 60 FPS seems like the sweet spot for the timing. You can also set it up higher if your device supports that. Try not to set it at “None” for the timing.
- Display resolution: Go with your display device’s native resolution.
- Resolution Scale: 100%
- Quality Preset: Custom
- Effects Quality: Low
- Geometric Quality: Low
- Global Illumination Quality: Very Low
- Lighting Quality: Low
- Texture Quality: Medium
- Reflections: Very Low
- Atmospheric Quality: Low
- Post-Processing Quality: Medium
- Screen Shake: Off
- Motion Blur: Off
There is an option for an upscaling technique as well. If you have an AMD card like me, you can simply opt for FSR. The upscaling quality should always be focused on getting the best performance on your device.
- Async Compute: On
- Frame Generation: Off (turn this on only as a last resort)
The performance in the first few hours has been pretty good and stable. I have really enjoyed what this revamped version has to offer while keeping the original storyline intact. I am still expecting a few post-war patches to come, which will solve whatever little problems we might have right now.
