Dragon Ball Super Officially Reveals the Only Saiyan Stronger Than Gogeta

Dragon Ball Super Officially Reveals the Only Saiyan Stronger Than Gogeta

Broly has the potential to be the most powerful warrior in existence in Dragon Ball Super. Universe 7’s Legendary Super Saiyan was born with a Power Level of 10,000, rivaling that of King Vegeta. Due to his overwhelming strength, Broly was exiled to Planet Vampa, where he lived for over forty years. Despite having no formal training and essentially being malnourished due to Vampa’s harsh conditions, Broly is still stronger than Goku and Vegeta in his base form.

After turning into a Super Saiyan and unlocking his Legendary Super Saiyan form, Broly completely surpasses Super Saiyan Blue Goku & Vegeta. The only character strong enough to defeat Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly was Gogeta, a literal God-Tier fusion. Even then, Gogeta had to use Super Saiyan Blue in order to finally overpower Broly. While Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta effortlessly defeats Legendary Super Saiyan Broly, Dragon Ball has officially revealed that Broly would have become stronger than Gogeta Blue if he tapped into True Legendary Super Saiyan.

True Legendary Super Saiyan Broly “Could Totally Win” Against Gogeta

In an issue of Saikyō Jump detailing all the different Dragon Ball transformations, the blurb on Legendary Super Saiyan Broly confirmed that he would have been able to beat Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta if only he were using the most powerful version of LSSJ. Saikyō Jump reads,

“Given Broly’s unique transformation, can he defeat Goku? He may have awakened to Super Saiyan Full Power and fought on equal terms with Gogeta, but… he forgets himself and goes on a rampage, doesn’t he? If he can control his emotions and fight with a calm mind, he could totally win!”

Dragon Ball: 7 Strongest Characters Who Rival Gogeta, Ranked

There aren’t many characters in Dragon Ball who can actually rival Gogeta, but the few who do realistically wouldn’t be able to beat him without help.

Interestingly, Dragon Ball Super: Broly‘s director, Tatsuya Nagamine, actually backed up the notion that Broly could beat Gogeta in the official Theatrical Program for the movie in Japan. Nagamine stated, “the final fight between Gogeta and Broly is so brutal, that if it were really happening, it could’ve easily gone down multiple ways.” Broly grows stronger the longer he fights in his Legendary Super Saiyan form, so he realistically could have caught up to Gogeta Blue had the fight not ended early. More importantly, Saikyō Jump stresses the idea that Broly was held back by going berserk in his Legendary Super Saiyan form.

True Legendary Super Saiyan is a version of LSSJ that allows the user to tap into the transformation’s power boost while still being able to control himself. As seen in the movie, Broly is a fighting genius who can easily keep up with Goku and Vegeta. If he regained his senses battling Gogeta, there’s no chance the Fusion could have beaten him. Following the end of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Broly starts training with Goku and Vegeta specifically to master Legendary Super Saiyan.

Broly Has Finally Unlocked His Most Powerful Form

True Legendary Super Saiyan Broly

As of Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103, Broly has finally done the unthinkable and tapped into True Legendary Super Saiyan. While sparring with Gohan Beast on Beerus’ Planet, Gohan pushes Broly so far, that he triggers Legendary Super Saiyan after taking a huge hit. Unlike when he was fighting Goku and Vegeta, however, Broly manages to maintain full control of his emotions, unlocking True Legendary Super Saiyan instead.

8 Strongest God-Tier Dragon Ball Super Transformations, Ranked

Dragon Ball Super’s transformations are simply on another level, with God-Tier forms capable of destroying the universe with their overwhelming power.

The Dragon Ball Super Full Color Manga colors Broly’s hair in the same green tint as his Legendary Super Saiyan form, confirming that he has indeed unlocked the True version of the transformation. True Legendary Super Saiyan Broly is so strong, Gohan Beast actually sweats fighting him and says it’s “unlike any of the Super Saiyan forms” he’s seen, implying that TLSSJ is much stronger than even Perfected Ultra Instinct.

Before Broly’s battle with Gohan can continue, the rest of the Saiyans jump in for a battle royale between Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Broly, Goten, and Trunks. While the fight isn’t actually seen, it’s heavily implied that Broly and Gohan were the winners. Gohan has the least visible damage at the end of the fight, while Broly is the only character sitting up instead of lying on the ground. This is definitive proof that Broly and Gohan are the two strongest Saiyans right now. The only way Gogeta is beating True Legendary Super Saiyan Broly now is if he unlocks Ultra Instinct or Ultra Ego.
