The Final Fantasy series has built a legacy that extends well beyond its mainline RPGs, with Square Enix regularly finding new ways to bring its most recognizable characters, locations, and artwork to fans, and Final Fantasy 9 has received plenty of this attention. Whether officially produced by Square Enix or created by fans, there are plenty of ways to celebrate these beloved Final Fantasy characters, their stories, and so on.
Final Fantasy 9 is particularly well suited to this kind of merchandise. Originally released in 2000, the ninth mainline entry takes players to the fantasy world of Gaia, where Zidane Tribal becomes involved in a much larger conflict after attempting to kidnap Princess Garnet. Its colorful cast, memorable soundtrack, and story about identity and belonging have helped it remain a fan favorite decades later. The game continues to inspire nostalgia among longtime fans (especially those who grew up with the original PlayStation release), making it a natural fit for new collectibles from Square Enix.
Final Fantasy 9: Denouement Releases November 2026
Now, Square Enix has another Final Fantasy 9 collectible for fans to consider, and it takes inspiration from the game’s original artwork. The official Square Enix Store has listed the Final Fantasy 9 Denouement jigsaw puzzle, a 1,000-piece puzzle featuring the game’s “Denouement” key visual. The product is also celebrating the Final Fantasy RPG’s 25th anniversary, giving fans another way to revisit the classic adventure beyond playing it again (FF9 Remake when?)

The official Square Enix Store lists the Final Fantasy 9 puzzle for $37 USD, with a November 2026 release window. The listing notes that the exact number of pieces may vary slightly due to the puzzle’s aspect ratio and manufacturing, while the release date is subject to change.
The Final Fantasy 9 Denouement puzzle measures approximately 51 x 73.5 centimeters when completed, making it a fairly substantial display piece for anyone who enjoys jigsaw puzzles as much as gaming collectibles. Once assembled, the finished puzzle can be displayed as a tribute to one of the most beloved entries in the Final Fantasy series, with its original key visual providing the main attraction. Both are here for readers’ comparison: both the original artwork and the jigsaw puzzle version are above.
For fans, the puzzle offers a different way to revisit the Final Fantasy 9 world of Gaia and its memorable cast without simply returning to the original RPG. Square Enix has continued to draw on the franchise’s history for merchandise, with each and every product being a great way to show the iconic franchise entry love. Whether it ends up assembled and displayed or kept as a collectible, the Denouement puzzle gives fans another piece of Final Fantasy 9 history to add to their shelves.
