After a bit of a wait, Switch 2 owners can get their hands on Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight this autumn, publisher Warner Bros. has announced, as it joins the many other games arriving in September.
Legacy of the Dark Knight released last month across Xbox Series X/S and PC, with a Switch 2 version confirmed for a then-unspecified later date in 2026. And now, Nintendo’s console owners eager to fill their bricky boots with some DC goodness have a proper release date to look forward to: Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches for Switch 2 on 18th September.
Additionally, Legacy of the Dark’s Mayhem Collection DLC releases on that same day for owners of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’s Deluxe Edition across platforms – Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC – and includes the following:
- New Mayhem Mode featuring The Joker and Harley Quinn as playable characters with their own abilities, gadgets, and takedowns
- New story mission with The Joker and Harley Quinn breaking out of Arkham Asylum and causing chaos on the streets of Gotham City
- Sinister Pack, including seven new suits (one per original playable character), five new Batcave items, and one new Batmobile
On its release, we awarded Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight four stars, with Christian Donlan calling it “an endless parade of references and gags that’s difficult to resist”. And if you’re curious to know more, I recently spoke with Legacy of the Dark Knight’s Batman actor Shai Matheson about finding the voice of his Caped Crusader, and how he is honouring all the other Batmans that have gone before.
