Spider-Noir is based on the fan-favorite Marvel Noir version of Spider-Man, a darker, alternate-universe interpretation of the character originally introduced in the comics before exploding in popularity thanks to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The series stars Nicolas Cage, who’ll reprise his role as Spider-Man Noir. Unlike the bright, youthful energy typically associated with Spider-Man, Spider-Noir takes place in a grim, 1930s-inspired world filled with corruption, crime, and hard-boiled detective storytelling, where an aging Ben Reilly/the Spider struggles as a private investigator. His world is turned upside down when an impossible-to-ignore case comes his way and requires him to put the suit back on.

Aside from Nicolas Cage embarking on his first-ever leading TV role, Spider-Noir’s supporting cast has also garnered significant attention, with the show reportedly featuring a mix of classic Spider-Man characters all reimagined through the noir lens.
