Spider-Verse trilogy star Jake Johnson, who voices Peter B. Parker, says the long wait for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be worth it, calling the experience “worth the price of admission.”
Speaking with Screen Rant, Johnson shared his excitement about the upcoming film, saying, “I think people should be excited for what the movie is going to be. From everything that I’ve seen and recorded — it happened on the first one, it happened on the second one — it’s so good, and it’s so interesting.”
The upcoming movie will continue Miles Morales’ story following the cliffhanger ending of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. When asked what fans should be most excited to see, Johnson said, “The sequences are just so well-thought-out that I think it’s always worth the wait.”
He further added, “What that team does is worth the price of admission, and I’m, as always, so proud to be part of it.”
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse serves as the final chapter in Sony’s animated Spider-Verse trilogy. The series began with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 and continued with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in 2023.
The film is directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, with Shameik Moore returning as Miles Morales. Other returning cast members include Daniel Kaluuya as Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk and Marvin Jones III as Tombstone.
The official synopsis reads:
“Miles Morales returns for the final chapter of Sony Pictures Animation’s Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man™: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was originally scheduled to release on March 29, 2024, but has gone through multiple delays and is now set to arrive in theatres on June 18, 2027.
Before that, Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which releases in India on July 30.
