The theme of Gods has heavily played into One Piece’s Elbaf arc. So far, in the 29-year run of this manga by Eiichiro Oda in Weekly Shonen Jump, Elbaf is the arc with the heaviest focus on Gods and deities existing in the world. While a multitude of Gods were mentioned and name-dropped before in One Piece, Elbaf has unveiled four of the absolute strongest to us. The most recent of them was revealed in One Piece Chapter 1189, released on July 26, 2026, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #35. As things stand, One Piece has already unveiled the four absolute strongest Gods to be the Devil God, the Sun God, the Rain God, and finally, the latest addition of the Sea God in Chapter 1189.
One Piece Chapter 1189 Introduces New Sea God King From The Void Century
On July 26, 2026, One Piece Chapter 1189 was published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #35 before the series headed out on a break. This chapter showcased a plethora of incredibly powerful moments, such as Nerona Imu’s absolute dominance over Monkey D. Luffy as he stabbed him with the Blade of Nothingness: Vohu and then followed it up with more weapons. At the same time, it also showcased the immense power of the two Holy Knights, Sommers and Killingham, on the back of receiving their Omen power-up in One Piece Chapter 1180 and the weapon upgrade that followed on July 26 in Chapter 1189.
Perhaps the most important yet overlooked part of the chapter was when Imu unveiled a special blade from the Empty Throne called the Blade of the Sea God: Fragarach. This blade is incredibly overpowered, as it dealt deadly damage to Luffy and could potentially have killed him right in front of our eyes in the Warland. Even more than that, its naming carries immense significance. As confirmed in the chapter, this blade belongs to the Sea God, who is a significant figure from the Second World, or the Void Century, that rivaled Nika in One Piece. The Sea God was first mentioned in One Piece Chapter 1138 on February 3, 2025, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #10 in the Harley Texts, specifically in the section targeting the Void Century Era.

We already knew that a Sea God existed during this time, but it was unclear as to whom the Sea God was siding with. One Piece Chapter 1189 confirms the Sea God to be one of the 19 Kings who swore an oath of equality in front of the Empty Throne. In other words, the Sea God was lined up against Joy Boy. He was one of the rulers of the 20 Nations who banded together to fight the Ancient Kingdom. With the addition of the Sea God, we now have yet another godly entity from the Void Century who we know possessed tremendous powers. The Sea God wielded the blade named Fragarach, and this sword was immensely powerful, strong enough to turn into dust anything in its path, as was showcased in One Piece Chapter 1189 quite clearly.
One Piece Chapter 1182 Unveiled The Rain God Zaza From Void Century
The Sea God is the most recent addition to the lineup of Gods officially unveiled to us in the Elbaf arc, but there are other Gods that Eiichiro Oda officially introduced to us in this arc. Out of them, the most significant one, which is also currently at play in Elbaf is the Rain God. Officially introduced in One Piece chapter 1182 on May 10, 2026, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #24, the Rain God was mentioned by none other than Saint Killingham. According to Killingham, there are three things that the Celestial Dragons fear the most — one of them being Sun God Nika and the other being the people of the D. and Rain God Zaza.

Killingham himself, being quite young, has never seen Zaza in his life. Through his fear of it, stemming from the tales he has been told by those of the Celestial Dragons, Killingham was able to create an MMA version of this powerful God, which is currently wreaking havoc in Elbaf.
The Rain God Zaza comes forth in prayers for rain and brings down torrential rainfall capable of flooding entire villages and destroying countries. The Rain God seems to have a watery body, which gives it the ability to cancel Devil Fruit abilities, making it one of the strongest Gods seen in One Piece. Quite clearly, it is one of the most impressive Gods that we have seen in the story and yet another one that Elbaf has confirmed to us.
Devil God Nerona Imu And Sun God Nika Are The 2 Strongest Void Century Gods
Apart from the Sea God and the Rain God, One Piece’s Elbaf arc has also showcased the absolute best of the two strongest Gods from the Void Century — the Devil God Nerona Imu and the Sun God Nika. Nerona Imu arrived in Elbaf on April 5, 2026, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #19, with the release of One Piece chapter 1179. Immediately after, Imu’s Devil Fruit was revealed to be the Akuma no Mi, or The Devil’s Fruit, and he took on a demonic transformation.

In One Piece Chapter 1181, Loki officially labeled Imu’s power to be God’s Domination or a Deal With the Devil. In essence, Imu has the power of the Devil God of the One Piece world, who can bestow demonic abilities through Covenants to his loyal subordinates and followers, and turn into demonic slaves anyone else who dares to oppose him. Imu’s powers as the Devil God are absolute, and hardly anyone can rival them at this point in time.
Last but not least, there is the Sun God Nika, who always appears in times of great change, as explained by Elder Jarul in One Piece chapter 1136 on January 20, 2025. In the Void Century, Joy Boy took the form of Sun God Nika and instilled deep fear into Devil God Nerona Imu. In the current era, Monkey D. Luffy ended up consuming Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, and in chapter 1044 officially awakened it on March 28, 2022. Luffy has not yet brought out the full potential of the Nika ability, which means that, as things stand, he is not among the strongest Gods in the world. However, as the story hurtles towards the Final War, Luffy’s strength is going to grow dramatically, and he’s going to reach higher levels of power rivaling those of Nerona Imu himself.
